I have always had a passion for cooking and even more so since becoming vegetarian 5 years ago. Experimenting with new recipes is so important to maintain a healthy and balanced plant based diet and I love nothing more than spending the day rustling up some creations in the kitchen.
I was introduced to this lifestyle from my grandparents, who swear by all things natural. They have been vegan for 60 years, practiced yoga daily and live a holistic lifestyle. They really believe in the power of plants to help nurture and heal your body, and spending many a school holiday with them is probably why I have such a passion for it now too! I am proud to say I take a lot of my inspiration from them.
I was also recently diagnosed with a hormone imbalance called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome after battling some not so nice symptoms. Having this syndrome means I am at a significantly higher risk of chronic disease such as Diabetes, Heart Disease and Cancer. My GP wanted to put me on long term medication, but there was nothing more important to me than healing this naturally and treating the cause of this condition.
I am now studying Nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine and attend regular seminars and events to further my knowledge. In fact, my recent follow up tests have shown that my hormones are starting to level out which in turn will have a positive effect on my symptoms and complications. I can’t wait until I can finally help other people just like me too!
